Port Fairy Folk Festival

Twenty venues host one of Australia’s largest music festivals presenting roots, celtic, folk, country, bluegrass, blues, jazz, rock, crossover and world music.
Australia’s world famous Port Fairy Folk Festival is a major event presenting international and national artists in a four day festival of music.
The festival began in 1977 and has received Victorian and Australian Tourism Awards. With more than 130 acts and 500 artists the festival is a vibrant and exciting cultural celebration which magically transforms the fishing village.
First class performances are held on large stages in the Festival Arena and at venues throughout the town plus there are market stalls, buskers and street events.
The Festival has broad appeal and attracts all age groups. It features a highly regarded children’s festival, “The Folk Circus” and free Festival of the streets in addition to the marquee performances.
It is no surprise that it has become a “must go” weekend for a huge number of family groups and friends groups as it is a complete holiday with amazing and meaningful entertainment all within easy walking in most cases.
Top that off with a magnificent coastal setting in one of the oldest and most historic villages in Australia and it is no wonder that the event is world famous.
